What is Tech Academy?
Tech Academy is a mentor program for university students or for those individuals who would like to start their career in software development. The goal of the mentor program is to help the participants acquire the basic concepts and practices of software development, therefore making them possible to reach junior level. Participation in the program is free of charge and it is being held twice a year: in spring and in autumn.
What can you learn here?

During the program we are teaching the basic programming principles and the foundations of Git, Docker, JSON and HTTP. Besides, you will learn more technologies depending on the program you choose: frontend or backend.

On the frontend side you can get familiar with React, Typescript, Redux, Tailwind and CSS, while on the backend side you can have a better understading of Java, SpringBoot and Gradle.

Besides learning the latest technologies, you will also have a chance to observe what it is like to work in a company environment and how a day of a software developer looks like.
How does the program look like?
The duration of the program consist of 3-4 months, depending on how fast you progress. During the program you are working with a dedicated mentor, with whom you have regular consultations. Together with your mentor you are working in a hybrid model: sometimes you spend days in the office, sometimes you work from home. The program is not a full-time occupation as you only have to be available 20 hours per week. During the selection process we are going to choose 2 backend and 2 frontend applicants who can participate in the program.
Why should you apply?
Knowledge is power, and during the program you can get familiar with those technologies that are not taught in the university. Since you are working with a dedicated mentor, you will always have a change to ask questions, ask your mentor to explain things you do not understand and ask for guidance. At the end of the program, it is also possible that you may receive a job offer from TIS.
What are the conditions of application?
In order to participate Tech Academy, you need to have some basic knowledge of software development, availability of weekly 20 hours, own laptop or computer, good level of English and a huge load of dedication to finish the program.
Can I do my university internship during the program?
Since the program lasts 3-4 months, university applicants can do their internship during the mentor program, but only in the Spring season. When you are applying to the spring mentor program, please indicate if you intend to do your internship as well.

As mentioned above, we are doing the mentor program in spring and autumn, so please follow our social media sites for information about the application period.
Once you have sent your application, one of our HR ladies will get in touch with you and you will receive a small test, which helps us understand your current level of knowledge. If your test solution reaches our minimum standard, then you will be invited for a small talk with HR and one of the mentors. Finally, after the discussions we are selecting those who are participating the program.
University Internship
When can I apply?
At TIS we are welcoming applications for internships during spring within Tech Academy mentor program. Applications are open around February and March, but please follow our social media sites for more information. Please note that we are not able to receive and consider applications outside this period!
